Cedar Park Center Disney on Ice – Worlds of Fantasy

Cedar Park Center Disney on Worlds of Fantasy: I’m sure you’ve heard but I wanted to brag anyway – Disney On Ice: Worlds of Fantasy will be performing at Cedar Park Center (near Austin) this year!  We had Toy Story 3 in 2012.

Cedar Park Center Disney on Ice Toy Story 3

Who doesn’t love figure skating? No one, I suppose. It’s very fascinating.

Who doesn’t love Disney characters? Even grownups love them.

Okay, so, who wants to see Disney characters performing while figure skating? Everyone!!

Yes, everyone. Disney On Ice, as we all know and truly love, is an ice show that features different Disney movies and their respective characters – sometimes Mickey Mouse and the gang shows up too. It is a show produced by Feld Entertainment – the same company who produced “Holiday on Ice”, “Ice Follies” and “Disney Live”. The shows, usually, are mainly aimed for children. But it has been proven over and over again that Disney On Ice shows are not just for kids… They are for the whole family – teenagers, mommies, daddies, grandma and grandpa, etc. I don’t know what it is, but perhaps, it’s the magic of it all… Also, the whole presentation is really something you wouldn’t want to miss!

You know what’s more exciting? It is the fact that Toy Story 3 will be coming to Cedar Park Center! ..ahhh so close to Austin.

Toy Story 3 is one of Disney On Ice’s shows. The show started on September of 2010. The show is based on Toy Story 3, the latest of the Toy Story franchise. To make the show even more familiar, in-sync with the latest movie, and of course, more fun, they added some featured highlights from the first franchise, Toy Story, and the second one, Toy Story 2, on the first act. So you’ll see the familiar and memorable scenes from both. Act Two is where Toy Story 3 will be presented. So be ready to relive the fun and excitement Toy Story 3 movie has given you and your children.

Other existing Disney On Ice shows include “100 Years of Magic”, “Mickey & Minnie’s Magical Journey”, “Treasure Trove”, and “Dare to Dream”. Some reports show that there will be a new addition to these shows which will be opened on September of 2012.

Where is Cedar Park Center anyway?
Cedar Park Center is just 10 minutes away from Austin, Texas – give or take. The arena can be found in Leander, Texas. Since the city is a jurisdiction member of Capital Metro (the public transit located in Austin), this has become one the most accessible cities in Texas, which makes Cedar Park Center one of the most accessible arenas in Texas as well.

Cedar Park Center Seating

Good news here folks.. The Cedar Park Center Seating seats that are towards the back of the arena are pretty nice and cushy.. not what you’d expect with most other venues having the cheaper seats quite uncomfortable. They are a bit close together, so get an aisle seat if you can.

The seats on the floors were even more comfy although it’s a little weird not to have armrests. Have fun seeing the Texas Stars!

Cirque du Soleil Quidam? What gives?

Cirque du Soleil (Circus of the Sun), as we all know, is a private company in the entertainment industry. Founded by Guy Laliberté and Daniel Gauthier (former street performers) in 1984, the company is now very well-known and certainly produces one of the most-artistic circus shows out there. The show produced by Cirque du Soleil can be described as theatrical – no doubt about it. It’s your modern circus alright. Their shows were not categorized as “contemporary circus” for nothing. Their shows really beam with artwork only seen in theaters and circus. What a great mix, let me tell you that.

Cirque du Soleil Quidam is one of their stage shows which premiered in 1996. Quidam is actually the 9th but not the last show ever produced by the entertainment company. The show was first seen in Montreal as a big top show but it was converted as an “arena-type” of show in 2010 for its tour. Other shows produced by Cirque du Soleil were ‘Le Grand Tour du Cirque du Soleil’, ‘Le Cirque Réinventé’, ‘Saltimbanco’, ‘Alegría’, ‘O’, ‘Varekai’, ‘Dralion’, ‘Zumanity’, ‘Corteo’, ‘Delirium’, ‘Love’, ‘Zaia’, ‘Zed’, and ‘Criss Angel Believe’ just to name a few.

Cirque du Soleil Quidam’s story starts with a young girl named ‘Zoe’. She is definitely bored – her parents ignore her most of the time and are very distant. Naturally, Zoe will feel a void living this kind of life. So she seeks for something… something that will fill that void. Well, she is in luck as she will be discovering the world of Quidam soon. The world of Quidam is an imaginary world full of different wonderful characters, which in this case, will encourage Zoe to “free her soul”. Quidam is actually one of the characters – the featured character. This character / world is definitely one of a kind – it is where dreams happens. It is a mirror of “everyone” and “no one” at the same time. It really is exciting!

The characters of the show include Zoe, Father, Mother, The Target, John, Boum Boum, The Aviator and The Clown just to name a few.

Did you know? That the production of Cirque du Soleil Quidam has around 250 costumes… 200 to 300 pairs of shoes … and 500 costume accessories? Whoooaah! That’s one big production right there! The costumes in Cirque du Soleil Quidam are a combination of everyday clothing and a touch of acrobatic-arts-kind-of-clothes.

The show really is something. Starting from the set design that illustrates the giant arch made of 5 all-aluminum rails and has a total length of 120 feet to the stage floor which is made of aluminum decks. The floor also is equipped with a rubber type mat. The rubber actually is a medium to create wonderful visual effects.

Cirque du Soleil Quidam (showing at Cedar Park Center) is currently directed by ‘Franco Dragone’ – a well-known theatre director. For the artistic guide of the show, Gilles Ste-croix is the one responsible. The lovely set is actually designed by the wonderful set designer, Michel Crete. The creative costumes are designed by the ever beautiful Dominique Lemieux. The musical direction is currently being handled by composer Benoit Jutras. And of course, the imaginative and one of a kind choreography is being lead by Debra Brown – a former gymnast turned dance choreographer.

Join us at the Cedar Park Center for a magical night of Cirque du Soleil Quidam!

Arenacross at Cedar Park Center near Austin TX

Arenacross at Cedar Park Center!  Way too cool, right?  Well, they are on tour and holding one of their events here in Cedar Park, TX!   Listen.. AMA Arenacross Series tickets sell out fast!  I cannot stress this enough. If you see tickets you like, buy them!

ArenaCross Tickets

Arenacross (AX) is a somewhat newer version of Supercross. If you have not been in this kind of event before, Arenacross is a ‘downsized’ form of Supercross – a motorcycle racing sport that is held ‘indoors’ (in the sense). These motorcycle races are done in baseball or football stadiums primarily. For this special event, the said stadiums or arenas are equipped with artificially made dirt tracks which include steep jumps and some obstacles aimed to make the race more interesting as it is. Arenacross first started in 2006 and up to date, it has proven to always be a ‘box-office’ event. It has been said that this sport is definitely one of the unique shows ever happened in the sporting world.

The AMA Arenacross Series event consists of different riders from various parts of the world. These motorcycle sport riders aim to be transitioned from Arenacross racing to Supercross – and I guess somehow, some of them just love the sport. Some notable racers of Arenacross over time are Darcy Lange, Brock Sellards, John Dowd, Tyler Bowers, Josh Demuth, Kevin Johnson and Chad Johnson.

As I have mentioned above, AMA Arenacross Series has chosen Cedar Park Center as one of arenas in the US to bring about their sporting event, and this venue is perfect for this occasion. Why? Well, Cedar Park Center, which is a home to Texas Stars and the Austin Toros, is one of the most-renowned arenas in all of United States. It is certainly big enough to actually handle the 150 truckloads of dirt needed to sculpt the man-made battleground necessary for the Arenacross.  Cedar Park Center’s 6,800 seats will definitely cater the fans of the ever famous AMA Arenacross Series.

And as they say, a circus cannot be complete without elephants. The magnificent elephants in the circus are sure to WOW you with their massive maneuvers – they are real performers, I tell you. It has been said that they are one of the intelligent creatures out there. Also, be prepared for the star of the show – ‘The Mighty Bo’. Bo is the largest amongst all the elephants in the circus. Prepare for Bo’s routine consists of more than 60 tricks – How does he do it? Well, as we all know, elephants remember almost everything.

Wait till you see the tigers – ‘Majestic Tigers & Lions – Bruno Blaszak – Rage in the Cage’. Bruno is a one-of-a-kind trainer for tigers. You’ll see. These felines are going to entertain you like you’ve never seen before.
